The Artist
Spiro Chill is a Canadian hip-hop recording artist, producer, and scratch DJ whose dedication to underground culture has remained constant for over two decades. Discovering turntablism as a teenager, he began scratching records at sixteen and quickly became immersed in hip-hop not only as music, but as a vehicle for identity, discipline, and self-expression.
Based in Victoria, British Columbia, Spiro built his own recording environment after studying at Malaspina University College in the early 2000s — developing a deep catalog of original releases, beats, and collaborations with artists across Western Canada.
His instrumental release Regardless marks a renewed creative chapter — exploring the mindset of pressing forward through adversity while remaining grounded in creativity, growth, and authentic expression.

Youth Empowerment
Using hip-hop culture as a vehicle for growth, DJ Rootzeye runs hands-on empowerment workshops for youth — giving young people the tools to find their voice, build confidence, and navigate life through creative arts. Informed by years of outreach work alongside Ant Loc throughout BC and the United States, these workshops are an opportunity to bring soul, culture, and authentic community to the next generation.
Lyricism and spoken word as tools for self-expression. Participants write and perform their truth in a judgment-free space.
DJing, MCing, B-boying, graffiti art, and knowledge of self — the full culture as a foundation for identity and growth.
Hands-on turntablism basics. Learning discipline, patience, and skill-building through the art of the scratch DJ.
Conversations on healthy living, substance awareness, and using creative arts as a path to healing, growth, and freedom.
